Former French MP: 1945-1959
Politician,
One of the fathers of Congo Brazzaville’s independence and founder of the Congolese Republic along with Jacques Opangault, Stéphane Tchitchellé and Fulbert Youlou.
First parliamentarian from Moyen-Congo and Gabon at the French Constituent Assembly. He also founded the first political organization in the history of the Congo: the Parti Progressiste Congolais (PPC) and the first cultural association in the Middle Congo: “l’Harmonie de Pointe-Noire”.
In this capacity, he worked hard for the rights of the natives to be educated according to Western standards, and helped them obtain scholarships and leave to study in France.
